The Cypress Christian School Intermediate Acting class delighted family and friends with a performance of “When Bad Things Happen to Good Actors” on May 2 at the Tomball Lone Star College Black Box Theater.
This clever comedy featured a play within a play as the cast attempted to perform The Wizard of Oz. Filled with missed cues, forgotten lines and hilarious mishaps, the production kept audiences laughing while giving students the opportunity to showcase their creativity, comedic timing and acting skills.

Iliana Sevilla as the Tin Man and Glinda
Ayleen Aleman as the Wicked Witch and a Munchkin
Behind every successful production is a dedicated technical crew, and the Intermediate Tech class played an essential role in making the performance a success. From backstage scene changes to lighting and sound in the control booth, students worked together to keep the production running smoothly while gaining valuable experience in the technical aspects of live theater.
At Cypress Christian School, the Fine Arts program provides students with opportunities to grow in creativity, confidence, collaboration and communication. Productions like When Bad Things Happen to Good Actors allow students to develop their talents while learning the value of preparation, teamwork and perseverance.
