Cypress Christian School hosted the 2026 XC Warrior Invitational on September 12, welcoming more than 1,100 runners from over 70 schools across the Greater Houston area for a day of competition, fellowship and sportsmanship.
Held at Houston Northwest Church, the meet featured eight races spanning high school varsity and junior varsity divisions as well as middle school competition. With hundreds of runners competing throughout the day, the Warrior Invitational provided a championship-style atmosphere for athletes and spectators.
The Cypress Christian School cross country team turned in a strong performance, highlighted by two top-five finishes in the girls varsity race. Meryl Martin led the Warriors with an impressive fourth-place finish, while teammate Ivy Williams crossed the finish line just behind her in fifth. Both runners delivered outstanding performances against a competitive field and represented CCS well at its home invitational.
The event was also a tremendous community effort. More than 50 CCS parents, students and coaches volunteered throughout the meet, assisting with course setup, registration, hospitality, race operations and other areas. Their dedication and servant leadership helped create a memorable experience for the athletes, coaches and families in attendance.
Cypress Christian School is grateful to everyone who competed, volunteered and supported the event. The 2026 XC Warrior Invitational was another successful day of competition and community for the Warriors.
