On February 13, 2026, Cypress Christian School welcomed hundreds of grandparents and special friends to campus for one of the elementary school’s most cherished traditions—Grandparents & Special Friends Day. Centered around the theme “Walking the Path of Faith Together,” the event celebrated the important role grandparents and mentors play in nurturing the next generation of believers.
The morning began with coffee and breakfast as families gathered for fellowship before receiving a warm welcome from Patrick Reents, Vice President of Academics. Guests then attended a special chapel service honoring grandparents and special friends, where each elementary grade level delighted the audience with musical performances celebrating faith, family and gratitude.
Following chapel, students had the joy of leading their grandparents and special friends through an interactive faith journey across campus. At each stop, they shared meaningful experiences designed to encourage conversation, create lasting memories and celebrate God’s faithfulness.
The first stop featured a Rock of Remembrance, where each student presented their special guest with a hand-painted stone as a reminder of God’s faithfulness and the lasting legacy of faith passed from one generation to the next.
At the second station, students and their guests created a custom trail mix together, symbolizing the nourishment and encouragement needed for life’s journey.
The third stop invited families to gather for a cozy Fireside Chat, where thoughtfully prepared conversation starters encouraged grandparents, special friends and students to share stories, memories and wisdom while strengthening their relationships.
The final stop took guests into the elementary classrooms, where they met teachers and experienced firsthand the exciting learning taking place each day at Cypress Christian School.
Throughout the morning, professional photographers and themed photo stations provided opportunities for families to capture special memories together.
“Grandparents and Special Friends Day is a beautiful reminder that Christian education is strengthened through the partnership of families, schools and the generations that have gone before us,” said Patrick Reents, Vice President of Academics. “Seeing our students share their faith, celebrate their learning and spend intentional time with the people who have invested so much in their lives is one of the greatest joys of the school year.”
