Winning a state championship is an incredible achievement—winning four in a row is truly exceptional. The Cypress Christian School girls track and field team accomplished just that, capturing their fourth consecutive state title and continuing a remarkable run of excellence.
Fueled by determination, hard work, and a relentless competitive spirit, the Lady Warriors rose to the occasion at the state meet. Despite challenging weather conditions, the team embraced the moment and delivered one of their strongest performances of the season. Every point proved critical, and the team’s depth and resilience were on full display.
Led by seniors Sophia Swanton and Mariana Van Dyk, the Lady Warriors once again demonstrated what it means to compete at the highest level. Numerous athletes contributed to the championship effort with outstanding performances across multiple events:
- Sophia Swanton – State Runner-Up (Pole Vault), State Runner-Up (4x100m), 6th (100m), 6th (200m)
- Mariana Van Dyk – State Runner-Up (Shot Put), 3rd (Discus)
- Maddie Talkington – State Runner-Up (4x100m), 5th (100m), 6th (4x400m)
- Kyra Davis – State Runner-Up (4x100m), 7th (100m)
- Nicole Santos – State Champion (Triple Jump), State Champion (Long Jump), State Runner-Up (4x100m)
- Sophie Fransen – 6th (4x400m)
- Corrine Haudek – 6th (4x400m)
- Conley Martin – 6th (4x400m)
- Skylar Davis – 3rd (Shot Put), 6th (Discus)
- Rachel Czagas – 8th (Long Jump)
- Jadie Weatherly – 3rd (Pole Vault)
Boys Track & Field Finishes Fourth at State
The CCS boys track and field team also delivered an impressive performance, finishing fourth overall at the state meet. This marks a continued stretch of excellence, with the program placing in the top five for the past two seasons and previously winning back-to-back state championships in 2021 and 2022.
Battling injuries throughout the season, the Warriors showed grit and perseverance, refusing to make excuses and finishing strong against top competition.
Two standout performances highlighted the meet:
- Adler Smith – Back-to-back State Champion (100m), State Runner-Up (200m), 4th (Pole Vault)
- Gavin Snyder – State Champion (Pole Vault), setting a new state record at 15’6”, 5th (200m), 4th (4x400m)
