The 2026 season will be remembered as one of the finest in Cypress Christian School softball history. The Lady Warriors finished with an outstanding 22-4 overall record, captured another regional championship and advanced to the TAPPS Division II State Semifinals, marking the program’s fifth state tournament appearance in the past six seasons.
While the season concluded in the state semifinals, the Lady Warriors left behind a legacy defined by excellence, perseverance and an unwavering commitment to glorifying God both on and off the field.
A Championship Run
Following an undefeated 6-0 district championship, the Lady Warriors honored seniors Audrey Petrowski and Corinne Keim before closing the regular season with a dominant 13-0 victory over Beaumont Kelly.
The postseason began with another impressive performance as Cypress Christian defeated San Antonio Christian 11-1 in the opening round of the TAPPS playoffs. The Warriors’ balanced offensive attack featured key contributions from KK Smith, Corinne Keim, Alli Exum, River Sieg, Carlin Bahr and Katelyn Bienko, while outstanding pitching continued to anchor the team’s success.
In the regional championship, the Warriors overwhelmed St. Mary’s Hall 12-0 to earn another trip to the TAPPS State Tournament. The victory was highlighted by a towering three-run home run from KK Smith and another dominant outing from freshman pitcher Kynsley Weatherly, who continued an incredible rookie campaign in the circle.
The regional championship sent Cypress Christian to the TAPPS Division II Final Four, where the Lady Warriors competed among the state’s elite programs before concluding an unforgettable season in the state semifinals.
More Than Wins and Championships
Throughout the season, the Lady Warriors embraced the program’s mission of playing for an Audience of One, striving to honor Christ in every practice, game and interaction.
Their success extended beyond the scoreboard. The team displayed resilience through adversity, celebrated one another’s accomplishments and represented Cypress Christian School with humility, toughness and unwavering faith.
The season also included a special Senior Dinner honoring Audrey Petrowski and Corinne Keim, celebrating not only their outstanding softball careers but the Christ-centered leadership they demonstrated throughout their time at Cypress Christian School.

“This team accomplished something special because of their commitment to one another and their desire to honor Christ in everything they did,” said head coach Dimitric Murph. “We are incredibly proud of the way these young women competed, supported one another and represented Cypress Christian School throughout the season. While championships are exciting, the character and faith they displayed will always be what we’re most proud of.”
