More than 225 members of the Cypress Christian School community gathered on April 21, 2026, for the annual Next Step Fundraising Breakfast, a morning dedicated to celebrating God’s faithfulness, sharing the school’s vision and investing in the future of Christ-centered education through the Warrior Fund.
Held in the Main Gym on the Bridgeland campus, the event brought together parents, grandparents, alumni, donors and friends of the school to reflect on God’s provision and look ahead to the exciting opportunities that lie before Cypress Christian School.
“Our Next Step Is Deeper”
Head of School Dr. Jeff Potts challenged attendees with a forward-looking vision for the next chapter of Cypress Christian School following the successful transition to the Bridgeland campus.
“Our next step is deeper,” Dr. Potts shared, encouraging the CCS community to continue growing in faith, purpose and impact as faithful stewards of the opportunities God has provided. His message called families and supporters to remain committed to developing students who know Christ, pursue academic excellence and impact the world for His glory.
Celebrating God’s Faithfulness
Guests also heard from David Swan, who reflected on the remarkable journey that brought Cypress Christian School to Bridgeland. Sharing stories of God’s faithfulness and provision throughout the process, Swan reminded attendees that every step of the journey had been guided by God’s hand.
He also highlighted the life-changing impact of the Warrior Fund, which provides tuition assistance and benevolence for families, making a Christ-centered education at Cypress Christian School accessible to students who might not otherwise have the opportunity to attend.
Students Share Their God-Given Talents
The morning was enriched by performances from several talented student groups who beautifully reflected the mission of Cypress Christian School through music.
Guests enjoyed a joyful performance by the second-grade choir, directed by Mrs. Tania Overton, as well as a special duet by Sydney Swan and Aidan Salazar. The CCS String Ensemble, under the direction of Dr. Mary Layton, also inspired attendees with a musical performance that celebrated the gifts God has entrusted to each student.
Investing in the Next Generation
The Next Step Fundraising Breakfast served as a powerful reminder that the mission of Cypress Christian School extends far beyond the classroom. Through the generosity of faithful supporters, the Warrior Fund continues to provide opportunities for students and families to experience an education rooted in academic excellence and biblical truth.
Cypress Christian School extends its sincere gratitude to every family, donor and community member who attended and continues to invest in the mission of the school. Together, we move forward in faith—forming students, strengthening families and advancing Christ-centered education for generations to come.
