Cypress Christian School Swim Team Closes Season with Outstanding Performances at TAPPS State Meet

The Cypress Christian School varsity swim team capped off an outstanding 2026 season with several memorable performances at the TAPPS State Swim Meet in San Antonio, highlighted by podium finishes, personal records and strong relay performances.

Leading the way was senior Peyton Whitmarsh, who earned TAPPS State Runner-Up honors in the 100-yard breaststroke, touching the wall in 1:14.94 to claim second place. Whitmarsh also added another top-10 finish by placing sixth in the 50-yard freestyle, concluding an exceptional high school swimming career.

Senior Ali Richard recorded a personal best in the 200-yard individual medley, finishing ninth with a time of 2:49.70. Her performance marked an outstanding way to finish her senior season while showcasing the hard work she put in throughout the year.

Junior David Achterkirch also delivered a personal-best swim, posting a 1:19.24 in the 100-yard butterfly, continuing his growth and setting the stage for another strong season next year.

The Warriors also excelled in relay competition as the girls 4×100-yard freestyle relay team of Lexi Stamos, Kayla Geyrer, Ali Richard and Peyton Whitmarsh earned an eighth-place finish against some of the state’s top competition.

The TAPPS State Swim Meet served as a fitting conclusion to a season marked by dedication, perseverance and steady improvement. Throughout the year, the Warriors demonstrated the commitment and sportsmanship that define Cypress Christian School athletics while competing at the highest level of TAPPS competition.
