CCS Elementary Students Pack 334 Backpacks to Serve Local Community

Cypress Christian School elementary students recently demonstrated what it means to live out their faith through a meaningful campus-wide backpack drive. Partnering with Cypress Assistance Ministries (C.A.M.), students, families, and staff came together to support local children in need ahead of the upcoming school year.

What began as a goal to build on last year’s effort quickly turned into something extraordinary. The CCS community far exceeded expectations, increasing their impact from 55 backpacks last year to an incredible 334 backpacks filled with essential school supplies for C.A.M.’s Back-to-School distribution in August.

Throughout the project, students took an active role in every step of the process. Each backpack was carefully packed with needed supplies, accompanied by a handwritten letter of encouragement and a student-made salvation keychain. These personal touches reflected the heart behind the project and the school’s commitment to its annual theme, “Love God, Love People.”

In addition to the generosity of CCS families, the project was supported by Group 1 Buick GMC North, which provided a generous supply of backpacks. Their partnership helped make it possible for students to expand their reach and serve even more families in the community.

More than just a service project, the backpack drive served as a hands-on learning experience for students. It gave them the opportunity to better understand the needs of others, practice compassion, and see how even small acts of kindness can make a lasting difference.

Cypress Christian School is incredibly proud of its elementary students for the way they embraced this opportunity to serve. Through their efforts, hundreds of children will head into the new school year equipped not only with supplies, but with encouragement and hope.
