CCS Bible Buddies Connects High School and Elementary Students Through Faith and Service

Cypress Christian School’s Bible Buddies program is back, bringing high school and elementary students together for meaningful opportunities to build relationships, grow in faith and put biblical lessons into action.

Through Bible Buddies, CCS high school students are paired with younger elementary students, creating opportunities for mentorship, discipleship and fellowship across grade levels. Throughout the school year, these students meet to discuss lessons from elementary chapel, encourage one another and explore practical ways to live out their faith.

During their first gathering of the school year, students focused on the elementary theme, “Love God, Love Others, in Action,” reflecting on 1 John 4:19: “We love because He first loved us.” Together, they discussed how God’s love can be demonstrated through kindness, encouragement and service to others.

Sophomore Sophie Boctor shared that she appreciated the opportunity to minister to younger students and hear their perspectives. Junior Santiago Navarro enjoyed connecting with his Bible Buddy through shared interests, including baseball, and looks forward to spending more time together.

Students also put their discussions into practice through acts of service around campus. Bible Buddies worked together to pick up trash, write encouraging messages on sidewalks and create thank-you notes for CCS faculty and staff.

The Bible Buddies program is one of the many ways Cypress Christian School intentionally integrates faith into the student experience. By connecting students across grade levels, the program encourages high school students to develop leadership and mentoring skills while providing younger students with positive role models who demonstrate Christ’s love through their words and actions.

This first gathering marked the beginning of another year of growing in faith, building friendships and serving others. Through Bible Buddies, CCS students are learning that loving God and loving others goes beyond the classroom and can be demonstrated through everyday actions.
