TAPPS State Champions!

The TAPPS State Academic, Fine Arts and Speech Meet took place this week in Waco. Our Warriors had the perseverance and tenacity to place as the 4A State Champion school in Art, the State Runner-Up school in speech and placed fourth overall when academics and speech combined their efforts.

Speech individual award winners:

Solo Acting:

  • Jackson Murrill – State Champion
  • Avery Connelly – ninth place

Duet Acting:

  • McKenzie Davenport & Jackson Murrill – State Runner-Up
  • Alli Crawford & Gia Granato – third place

LD Debate:

  • Rayne Harris – seventh place
  • Amanda Taylor – eighth place

Poetry:

  • Camille Zemke – fourth place

Prose:

  • Ashley Lopez – sixth place

Original Oratory:

  • Kiley Kreitz- State Runner-Up
  • Ester Torres Pinheiro – third place
  • Katie Schmitt – fifth place

The coaches could not be more proud of the talents and efforts displayed by everyone who competed. Go, Warriors!

This week in chapel, middle and high school students had the unique opportunity to hear the amazing story of Mr. Al Jowdy. Mr. Jowdy was born in San Antonio in 1927.
The Warrior Swim Team competed in the TAPPS State Swim Meet on Wednesday, February 14, in San Antonio. The Warriors were represented by 16 athletes and competed in four relay events and six individual events.
Cypress Christian School took a total of 41 soloists to competition, middle school and high school combined, 30 of which were first-time soloists at TAPPS Solo and Ensemble. Of these singers, the following students received a I-Superior Rating (highest possible)
