One year ago, Cypress Christian School opened the doors to its new campus in Bridgeland, beginning an exciting new chapter in the school’s history.
The move represented much more than a change of address. After decades of growth and generations of students on the school’s original campus, CCS stepped into a new home designed to support its mission and provide new opportunities for students to learn, grow, lead and serve.
Today, one year later, the campus feels like home.
Over the past year, classrooms and hallways have filled with learning and laughter. Students have competed in gyms and on athletic fields, performed on stage, experimented in science and STEM labs, gathered for chapel and worship and built relationships with teachers and one another.
Most importantly, the mission that has guided Cypress Christian School since 1978 remains unchanged.
A Campus Built for the Future
The 44-acre campus in Bridgeland includes approximately 165,000 square feet of facilities designed to serve students from transitional kindergarten through 12th grade.
The new campus provides expanded spaces for academics, fine arts, athletics, worship and community while giving CCS room to continue serving Christian families in Cypress and the surrounding areas for generations to come.
But the story of the past year cannot be told simply through square footage, classrooms or facilities. The true impact of the campus is found in what happens inside those spaces each day.
It is found in teachers investing in their students. It is found in friendships developing across campus. It is found in students discovering their gifts and pursuing excellence. It is found in families gathering together as a community. And it is found in students being encouraged to grow academically and spiritually as they prepare for wherever God calls them next.
One Campus, One Community
During its first year, the new campus became the setting for countless CCS traditions and milestones — some continuing from generations past and others beginning for the first time.
From the first day of school and Friday night football to chapel, performances, competitions, Preview events, graduation and community celebrations, the campus quickly became a place where the Warrior community could gather together.
Those moments have helped transform a new facility into a school home.
The move also created new opportunities for Cypress Christian School to welcome prospective families and introduce more people throughout northwest Houston to the mission and community of CCS.
Building on a Legacy Since 1978
While much has changed since Cypress Christian School was founded in 1978, the purpose of the school remains firmly rooted in its Christian mission.
The new campus represents another chapter in that story — one made possible by the faithfulness, generosity and vision of the families, faculty, staff, leaders, board members and supporters who have invested in CCS throughout its history.
As Cypress Christian School celebrates one year in its new home, we are grateful for all that has taken place here already and excited about what is still ahead.
Buildings create space, but people create a community. After one year, the new campus is filled with the relationships, experiences and Christ-centered education that have defined Cypress Christian School for generations.
And this is only the beginning.
