Program Overview

God gave each of us unique gifts and abilities and He asks us to use those gifts to further His kingdom. I Corinthians 10:31 says, “Whatever we do, do it all for the glory of God.” This applies to our family life, our school life and life as a cross country runner. The famous Olympic athlete Eric Liddle said, “I believe God made me for a purpose, but He also made me fast. When I run – I feel His pleasure.”

God gave some of us the amazing opportunity to be runners at Cypress Christian School and when we run to the best of our ability, encourage our teammates and our competition and give God the glory when we are all finished – we are running “for a purpose.”
Members of the cross country team commit to upholding these essential values:
  • COMPETITION – fiercely pursue winning against myself and opponents
  • UNITY – be one with the team and its purpose
  • DISCIPLINE – earn success by training myself toward perfection
  • INTEGRITY – do the right thing always because it is the right thing
  • GRATITUDE – be thankful in every opportunity

Assistant Coach, Burke Wilson, says, “The CCS Cross Country program is not only focused on developing successful endurance athletes, but building character into the lives of young men and women who will go on to impact the state, nation and world for Jesus Christ. We are a tight-knit community committed to encouraging one another and supporting each other as brothers and sisters in Christ.”

CCS Warrior Invitational

Welcome to the annual CCS Warrior Invitational!

Each season, the Warriors are excited to welcome middle and high school teams from the region to join in a terrific race day for grades six through 12.  In 2023, the program hosted its largest attendance with over 100 teams, including 1,800+ runners! Terrific facilities, generally flat terrain and the favorable layout support opportunities for great race times and competition on a spectator-friendly course for all contestants. Consider adding the Warrior Invitational to your season schedule for a well-organized and fun set of races for your middle and high school teams.  Meet information and registration can be found on athletic.net.
