Athletic Performance

Coach Benjamin Dixon Will Take CCS Strength & Conditioning to the Next Level

Strength and conditioning is one of the most vital pieces to any successful sports program. Without the inclusion of an appropriate strength and conditioning program, athletes have higher risk of injury, lower force output and rates of force development, lower muscular and cardiovascular endurance and lower overall confidence in their abilities. Therefore, the mission of Cypress Christian Sports Performance is to maximize the athletic potential of every athlete in the safest, most effective way possible.

With this in mind, Cypress Christian School is pleased to add Coach Benjamin Dixon to our staff as the new strength and conditioning coach. He holds a master’s degree in exercise physiology and is a former collegiate sprinter in the sport of track and field.

He has had a passion for human performance for as long as he can remember and has always been fascinated by athletes who defy what people think is humanly possible. Few things hype him up more than an athlete hitting a new jump, sprint or lifting a personal record.

Although the training methods that he has used over the years have changed, his philosophy remains the same. This philosophy is centered around developing athletes who are confident in their physical abilities. Confidence is built over time through an athlete seeing progress within key indicators of athleticism. If athletes are trained effectively, tested frequently and performances are consistently increasing, confidence is built. A confident athlete is one who will excel at their sport.

At CCS, we believe in developing exercise prescriptions based on the demands of high-level athletics. For every athlete, an offseason, preseason and in season training protocol is created to maximize strength, hypertrophy, power output, speed, flexibility, agility, body composition and develop motor patterns appropriate to the activities being trained for. Nutritional strategies are also implemented to prepare athletes for each phase of their training. With these protocols and series of events in place, students are mentally and physically prepared for each phase of their competition year and the demands associated with it.

Preparation for DI, DII, and DIII collegiate athletics is also at the center of the program. At Cypress Christian, we are always learning and developing our craft. We strive to use the most up-to-date, effective programming possible to develop our athletes and prepare them for the high demands of next-level athletics.

Building elite athletes takes a team and Coach Dixon is thankful for all the amazing coaches at CCS who care deeply about the athletes.
