Admissions Requirements

At least one parent must give a written account of how they came to know the Lord and be in agreement with the CCS Statement of Faith and Mission Statement.

Students in grades K-1 are given a reading readiness screening.

Students in grades K-3 are given a developmental assessment to determine developmental age and proper placement.

Students in grades 1-12 must test on or above grade level on the Reading and Math sections of the CCS entrance exam. Students who have previously attended a private school are asked to provide achievement test scores if taken within one year of the application date. STAAR does not meet our achievement test requirement.

Students must have a record of good behavior.

NEW STUDENT ADMISSIONS PROCESS

Step 1 - Application

Cypress Christian School utilizes an online admissions application for new students.

    2. Select - Create an Account
    3. Once your account is created, login to your account
    4. Select - Create a New Student Application for each child you wish to enroll. You will then have the flexibility to log in and out of your account and access your open application(s).

After submitting the application, along with the non-refundable application fee, you will be able to track your admissions status by logging into your account.

Step 2 - Testing

Once the application is submitted, the Admissions Office will contact you to schedule testing.

Required Testing:

Kindergarten
  • Gesell Developmental Observation
  • SEARCH Screening for reading readiness
First Grade
  • Gesell Developmental Observation
  • SEARCH Screening for reading readiness
  • TerraNova Test - Reading, Math and a writing sample

Second and Third Grade
  • Gesell Developmental Observation
  • TerraNova Test - Reading, Math and a writing sample
Fourth through Twelfth Grade
  • TerraNova Test - Reading, Math and a writing sample

Students who have previously attended a private school are asked to provide achievement test scores if taken within one year of the application date. Please note: STARR does not meet our achievement test requirement.

Students in grade levels requiring more than one admissions test will take their tests on different days.

Step 3 - References & Paperwork

The following documents must be submitted to the Admissions Office before the interview will be scheduled:

Step 4 - Interview

The Admissions Office will contact you to schedule a family interview once the applicant’s file is complete and all requirements have been met. Both parents and student(s) are required to meet with administrators. After the interview, the application file will be forwarded to the Admissions Committee for review.

Step 5 - Admissions Decision

Families will be informed of acceptance or denial of admission after the Admissions Committee's review. According to the time of year, this may occur via a phone call or a letter.
