Debbie Gonzalez

Mrs. Debbie Gonzalez serves as a Search and TEACH therapist in the Huff Learning Center at Cypress Christian School. She earned a Bachelor of Science in elementary education from Eastern New Mexico University and brings extensive classroom experience in both public and private Christian education.

Before transitioning to the Huff Learning Center, Mrs. Gonzalez taught fourth-grade reading, Bible and history as well as fifth-grade writing at CCS. She holds teaching and ACSI certifications and is certified in Search and TEACH.

Mrs. Gonzalez is passionate about helping students better understand how they learn, build confidence, take risks and overcome challenges. She especially values the opportunity to share her love for the Lord and connect students’ learning to God’s Word and His love for them.

Mrs. Gonzalez and her husband, Marcelino, have three adult daughters and five grandchildren. Outside of school, she enjoys reading, especially historical fiction, traveling and spending time with her family. One of her favorite passages of Scripture is Philippians 4:4-7, which reminds her to rejoice in the Lord, bring everything to Him in prayer and rest in His peace.
