Capstone Engineering Partners with Reach Unlimited
Monday, April 17, the Senior Capstone Engineering class honored their clients from Reach Unlimited as they presented their final products. Each group presented their product to the guests, which included their clients. At the end of each group’s presentation, they called their clients
up to the stage to demonstrate and to show them the products they created for them. Each client’s smile at the products made the whole room fill with smiling faces and smiling hearts.
The class has partnered with Reach Unlimited, a company that works to help and teach those with disabilities. The students were tasked with creating three separate products with the end goal of helping their special-needs client. One group created an audio-communication board for a client, Robert, who is nonverbal. Another group created a tactile board that has many sensory objects on it for their client, TJ. The last group created a lightboard that will assist their client, Alan, as well as anyone at Reach Unlimited to help cut glass using a stencil.
This class has had the opportunity to use their skills, talents and studies to be the hands and feet of Jesus.
