State of Texas Certification in Music K-12

Amber Ward is thrilled to be a part of the faculty at CCS as choral director! In addition to teaching music at The Geneva School of Manhattan in New York City for four years, Ms. Ward directed four of the eight high school choirs at Taylor High School in Katy, TX before she moved to NYC. Ms. Ward, a native Texan, is a professional actor, singer and worship leader. Some of her favorite musical theater roles include Beth in “Little Women”, Dorothy in “Wizard of Oz” and Belle in “Beauty and the Beast”. Other credits include Maria in “West Side Story”, Liesl in “The Sound of Music”, Diana in “A Chorus Line” and Darlene in “Honky Tonk Angels”. Ms. Ward was a soprano with the Central Church Chorale in NYC for 13 years under the direction of Dr. Seth Ward, having sung in more than 10 annual “Messiahs” with the choir, as well as other major works such as Mendelssohn’s “Elijah”, Bach’s “Magnificat” and Faure’s “Requiem”. She led worship at Central Church on the Upper East Side in NYC for 13 years, and before that toured with her husband as a Christian music artist with their record, “Bitter Kiss”. Ms. Ward holds a bachelor’s of music education in choral music and voice from Baylor University and is a proud member of the Actors Equity Association. Ms. Ward is also excited to be teaching fourth and fifth grade music this year!
