Kimberly Aftosmes

Search & TEACH Therapist
OVERVIEW

Kim Aftosmes began her teaching career in 1987 in the Boston suburb of Weymouth, Massachusetts. Between teaching and taking time off to raise her family, she has been teaching for over 25 years at various New England and Texas schools. She has been teaching at Cypress Christian School for over 10 years and is now serving in the Learning Center as a Search & TEACH therapist and offering valuable support services through the Academic Skills Coaching Program in elementary.

She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in elementary education from Bridgewater State University. Kim is excited to support young learners and to supply them with the tools necessary to be successful readers and writers as they grow and mature. Her goal for every student is that they will reach their full potential in Christ and realize their value and worth in Him.

She has been married to her husband, Michael, for over 35 years and has four adult children and two beautiful granddaughters. She enjoys reading, spending time with her family and playing with her adorable dogs. Her favorite verse is Proverbs 3:5-6, “Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.” Life is full of twists and turns, but this verse is a great reminder that God has a plan. We might not understand why things happen, but we can trust that we have a good Father who works everything out for our good and His glory.
