Yearbook/Digital Art

The yearbook course has been designed to provide students with journalism skills and the ability to apply those skills to the actual production of the yearbook. Students work hands-on with industry tools such as digital cameras, Adobe Photoshop and Adobe InDesign. Units of study include teamwork, responsibility, brainstorming, content, coverage, concept, reporting, writing, headlines, captions, editing, photography, typography, design, graphics, finances, yearbook campaigns, advertising and distribution. The work done by the yearbook staff is a real-world experience that results in the current volume of our school’s yearbook. The publication strives to maintain a tradition of excellence in which the school and the community can take pride. Mastery of the goals and objectives educates staff members in all areas of publication production. While the course provides a strong foundation for students who wish to pursue journalism, the skills learned and used in yearbook, such as communication, collaboration, project management, organization and meeting deadlines, are valuable in any field or discipline, whether in advanced studies or a career.
Molly McBride is the yearbook adviser.

Secondary School Yearbook

2025-2026 Impact Theme: A New Frontier

Every secondary student receives a yearbook as part of tuition. The book is a complete retelling of the entire school year from August through May. Delivery is in July to the school, and distribution to the student body takes place at Open House/Meet the Teacher the day before the new school year begins. Senior recognition ads are also available for parents to create through the Jostens website. Parents will receive directions, deadlines and communication directly from the yearbook staff.

The theme of the secondary yearbook, Impact, changes yearly and strives to document the daily events of scholastic life, highlighting the things that our CCS community does to make an impact on others’ lives. This year’s theme, “A New Frontier,” follows our students as they blaze new trails and push toward new horizons in the classroom, on the field and in our community. Highlights of students, polls and infographics, vivid photography and captivating interviews make the yearbook come to life. The yearbook is a history book that tells the story of the year.

The staff works outside of class conducting interviews, taking photos, creating layouts and writing copy to meet printing plant deadlines. This year’s staff has worked hard to make a quality product while also taking breaks for food and fun to enhance creativity.

Elementary Yearbook: In His Image

The 2025-2026 school year marked the third year that elementary students received their very own yearbook, and the first year the book carried its own name, In His Image, making it fully distinct from the secondary book, Impact. The book highlights elementary school life, field trips and events, and is available for purchase online through Jostens. Unlike the secondary yearbook, In His Image is delivered before the school year ends, and students who order online receive their books in time to look through them together and sign each other’s books before summer vacation begins.
