K-12 Private Christian School in Northwest Houston, TX

2019 Next Step Breakfast

Cypress Christian School held its eighth annual Next Step Breakfast this past Friday, April 26, in the CCS East Gym. This event supports our Warrior Fund that provides resources for academic enhancements, facility improvements, technology upgrades, tuition assistance and more.

This year’s event featured speakers Jim Boyd and his daughter, Amanda, who will be graduating from CCS this year.  The Boyd family has been involved with Cypress Christian School for over 21 years. The Boyds have sent all four of their children through CCS from kindergarten through grade 12.  Mr. Boyd shared many memories from his time at CCS and the ways that the school has made a difference to his family.  Amanda spoke from a student’s perspective concerning how CCS has developed her spiritually, academically and socially.

The breakfast included the release of a new video featuring students Beto Vasquez and Kara Otts. The video highlighted the impact of CCS in their lives, particularly the support from the CCS community during traumatic family events.

The audience was blessed by several musical numbers from our third grade children’s choir led by Elementary Music Teacher, Tania Overton.

Our Executive Director, Steve Novotny, shared how the mission of CCS is being realized on our campus in the lives of young people, and the event was closed by comments and prayer from our incoming Head of School, Dr. Jeff Potts.

Guests commented that they enjoyed the event and were thankful they attended. The school is extremely grateful for the generosity of the donors, and an appreciation breakfast event for our donors and Heritage Circle members will be held on Tuesday, May 14, in the lobby of the east gym from 7:45-8:30 a.m.
