2017 Next Step Breakfast
Historic Event
The Next Step Fundraising Breakfast, held on May 2, 2017, was the first event ever held in the new Campus Life Center and Gym. Executive Director Stephen Novotny is shown welcoming guests into the building for the first time.
Athletic Director Marsha Martin opened the event in prayer followed by special music from the third grade choir. Throughout the one-hour event, guests were inspired by Warrior videos and speaker testimonials. Each event speaker shared how CCS has impacted students and helped set the course for lives characterized by academic excellence, biblical values and cultural impact.
Message From Executive Director Stephen Novotny
Executive Director Stephen Novotny welcomed guests and spoke to them about how Cypress Christian School was created for a great purpose - to powerfully train, educate, discipline, strengthen and hone the skills of the next generation of Christian warriors. He thanked guests for partnering with CCS to carry out its mission and purposes ordained by God.
Dean of Students / Head Boys Basketball Coach Craig Cleveland
Coach Cleveland addressed guests saying: "As a teacher and coach, having the opportunity to plant seeds educationally and spiritually in the lives of students has impacted my life immeasurably. Often we plant seeds, but don't get the opportunity to see the fruit, but I have been fortunate to see students grow and mature into godly young men and women who are on fire for Christ and now, through their gifts and talents, are advancing the Kingdom."
Alumni Parent / Former Teacher Michele Bennett
Michele expressed her thanks for the many teachers who poured into her children's lives and elaborated on her son's experience at CCS. Michele said, "Over the years, Ben's teachers helped mold him into an excellent student. They encouraged diligence and creativity and provided challenges that prepared him to be a man that impacts his culture technically as an engineer (Texas A&M graduate) and spiritually as a man who follows God's heart."
I am a Warrior Videos
A highlight of the morning was the I am a Warrior videos featuring former CCS students and alumnus Ben Bennett ('12). Click here to view the I am a Warrior 2012 video, which was recorded during Ben's senior year of high school.
