Grandparents & Special Friends Day 2017
Thanks to everyone who joined our elementary students for a very fun and memorable morning on Friday, February 17, 2017.
The day started at 7:30 a.m. with a meet and greet in the CCS gym where guests were treated to hot coffee and goodies and given an opportunity to have a professional photo taken by G. Michael Photography with their loved one(s). At 8:30 a.m., guests joined students in classrooms for special activities planned especially for the day.
After 45 minutes of in-class fun and learning, more than 500 guests gathered together with their student(s) in the gym for a chapel service which included pledges, songs, scripture, and special presentations by K-5 students. In addition, CCS senior Shelby Zerwas presented a moving testimony about CCS. Elementary Principal Robert White addressed grandparents during the service and praised them for their investment in their grandchildren's lives. He then recognized the grandparents who had traveled the farthest, been married the longest, had the most grandchildren, and lived in Texas the longest.
Immediately following the chapel service, students and guests were treated to goodies and given another opportunity to have a professional photo taken.
