With over 1,000 in attendance, Friday, August 19 was a fun evening celebrating the new school year with K-12 students and their families enjoying fellowship, Backyard Grill meals, dessert trucks and more.
The event was student-led with seniors Gia Granato and Alli Crawford acting as emcees. The new student band, City on a Hill, made up of CCS students Jessica Atkins, Ashleigh Townsend, Ali Richard, Rayne Harris, Logan Oliverson, Gabe Caldwell and Aiden Salazar along with The MET Church member Micah Humphrey, was introduced and led us all in worship. The Warrior Band and varsity cheer team participated in leading the crowd in cheers and chants and the new dance team made their debut performance.
The great things students accomplished in academics, fine arts and athletics in 2021-2022 were acknowledged. These accomplishments earned CCS the Henderson Cup for a second year in a row, again naming Cypress Christian School the best 4A private school in Texas!
Thank you to Director of Advancement, Craig Soudelier, and Mary Granato and their team for putting on the event. Special thanks to The MET Church Pastor Matt Roberson and to CCS Choral Director Amber Ward for their leadership with the band.
We are looking forward to a great school year! Go, Warriors!
