No Taxation Without Representation!

Fourth-grade students have been busy learning about the American Revolution. To help them better understand some of the causes of the Revolutionary War, students participated in an exciting role-play activity. Each student randomly received a Role Card to find out if he or she would be a colonist, a tax collector, a member of Parliament, or the King of England.

Secondary Spiritual Emphasis Days

Students in grades 6-12 were given an extra spiritual challenge as a part of the annual CCS Spiritual Emphasis Days. The focus of the three days was on “Habitudes.” A “Habitude” is defined as a leadership skill presented in a vivid picture that impacts our habits and our attitudes.

AP Spanish Students Create Shields

AP Spanish students recently read an adapted prose version of the epic poem "Poema del mío Cid" and compared it to the original verse. Students each chose a character from the poem and created a shield with emblems to represent important events and character traits of the person.

ATHLETICS NEWS

2018 TAPPS Regional Swim Meet

The Cypress Christian Swim program took its largest team ever to the regional meet. Eleven swimmers participated in 15 events, five relays and 18 individual races. Elliott Jones set the pace by winning two events.

Warriors Collect Football Honors

Eight Warriors earn All-State honors on the gridiron. Nine are named to the Academic All-State team and 17 earn All-District honors. Coach Spenn named Coach of the Year.

State Champions!

The Warriors took home the TAPPS Division III State Championship on Friday afternoon with a record setting 68 to 34 victory over McKinney Christian.

Volleyball End-of-Season Awards

The Lady Warrior volleyball program had a lot to celebrate this year at their end-of-season awards banquet held last week. JV finished finished second in district and Varsity finished with an appearance in the State Final Four for the first time in school history.

Wild Finish Sends the Warriors to the Title Game

You could not have asked for a better high school football game. Two great teams battled hard to the very end in a game that was back and forth all night long. The Warriors prevailed 49-43 to advance to the TAPPS Division III State Championship Game.

Swimming Gets a Fast Start

The swim season does not get into full swing until after Christmas, but two CCS swimmers have gone to meets this year and have turned in personal best times, including a new school record in the 100 Back for Elliott Jones.
