Golf Teams Finish Third in First Tournament of the Season

The Cypress Christian boys and girls golf teams competed in their first tournament of the season this past Monday, February 13. The event was played at Magnolia Creek Golf Club in League City and hosted 23 teams in the field. Both the boys and girls teams finished in third place!

Girls and Boys Golf Teams Headed to State!

Both the boys and girls golf teams qualified for the TAPPS 4A State Golf Championships this past week at Regionals! The girls team was the Regional Runner-Up and the boys team took fourth.

Golf Season Starts Strong

Our varsity boys and girls golf teams started out the season strong with two tournaments this week. Monday’s tourney was at Northgate Country Club and the girls team took first place overall! 

CCS is Top 4A School in Texas!

CCS has won the 2020-2021 4A Henderson Cup for the first time in school history. The Henderson Cup is awarded to the best overall private school in Texas based on achievement in academics, fine arts and athletics competitions throughout the school year.

Girls Are Regional Champions!

The girls and boys golf teams both qualified to play in the TAPPS Regional Championships and our girls team (Abby Gilreath, Claire Johnson, Camden Maxey, Makena Pham and Elizabeth Richardson) placed first in the tournament, making them TAPPS Regional Champions, and are headed to the State Tournament on Monday and Tuesday, May 3-4, at Squaw Valley Golf Course in Glen Rose, Texas. 

Eighth-Grader Wins Golf Championship

CCS eighth-grader Grayson Petru recently won the U.S. Kids Houston Tour Championship. With this win, he has qualified to play in the U.S. Teen National Championship, which will be held at Pinehurst Golf Club in North Carolina in July 2021.

2019 Athletics Awards

On Thursday, May 23, 2019, the Cypress Christian School Athletics Department hosted an awards night in the East Gym.

Junior Kara Otts Places 5th in State Tournament

The CCS girls golf team competed in the TAPPS State Tournament on Monday and Tuesday, April 30-May 1, at Cottonwood Creek Golf Club in Waco. CCS was represented by four girls with the team placing sixth in the tournament. The girls team was led by junior Kara Otts, who had rounds of 87 and 93, finishing fifth overall. Kara is the first CCS girls golfer to finish in the top 10 of the state tournament and will also receive TAPPS All-State recognition.

Girls Golf Team Advances to State Tournament

The Warrior golf team competed in the TAPPS Regional Tournament at Fort Sam Houston Golf Club in San Antonio. CCS was represented by five boys and four girls with the girls team placing third, which qualifies them to play in next week’s TAPPS State Tournament. Juniors Kara Otts and Charlotte Achterkirch advanced to state as individuals.

Golf Team Places Second in District Tournament

The Warrior golf team competed in the TAPPS District Tournament on Thursday, April 12, at West Fork Golf Club in Conroe. CCS was represented by six boys and four girls and both teams placed second in the tournament and qualified to play in next week’s TAPPS South Region Tournament.

Warrior Golf Places Second at SWCA Tournament

The boys' team placed second in the tournament with scoring led by junior Nathaniel Richardson who shot a round of 85. Richardson also placed seventh overall in the tournament.

2017 Golf Season Begins

The nine members of the CCS Golf Team started the season off with competition in the Fort Bend Christian Invitational.
