CCS eighth-grader Grayson Petru recently won the U.S. Kids Houston Tour Championship. With this win, he has qualified to play in the U.S. Teen National Championship, which will be held at Pinehurst Golf Club in North Carolina in July 2021.

Congratulations to these high school student-athletes for earning awards this year.
The Houston Chronicle published an article on August 12, 2019, naming Cypress Christian School #11 in Houston for athletes for all high schools, public and private.

On Thursday, May 23, 2019, the Cypress Christian School Athletics Department hosted an awards night in the East Gym.

The CCS girls golf team competed in the TAPPS State Tournament on Monday and Tuesday, April 30-May 1, at Cottonwood Creek Golf Club in Waco. CCS was represented by four girls with the team placing sixth in the tournament. The girls team was led by junior Kara Otts, who had rounds of 87 and 93, finishing fifth overall. Kara is the first CCS girls golfer to finish in the top 10 of the state tournament and will also receive TAPPS All-State recognition.

The Warrior golf team competed in the TAPPS Regional Tournament at Fort Sam Houston Golf Club in San Antonio. CCS was represented by five boys and four girls with the girls team placing third, which qualifies them to play in next week’s TAPPS State Tournament. Juniors Kara Otts and Charlotte Achterkirch advanced to state as individuals.

The Warrior golf team competed in the TAPPS District Tournament on Thursday, April 12, at West Fork Golf Club in Conroe. CCS was represented by six boys and four girls and both teams placed second in the tournament and qualified to play in next week’s TAPPS South Region Tournament.

The Warrior golf team competed in the Frassati Catholic Invitational Tournament on Monday, April 9, at Windrose Golf Club in Spring. CCS was represented by five boys and three girls.

The Warrior golf team competed in the CHSA Tournament where the boys team placed second and Nathaniel Richardson placed second overall.

The Warrior golf team competed in the Southwest Christian Academy Invitational on Tuesday, March 20, at Sharpstown Golf Course in Houston. CCS was represented by five boys and three girls.

Overall, the season has been the most successful in many years for both the boys and the girls golf teams.

The 2017 Lady Warriors Golf Team is heading to the TAPPS 4A State Tournament May 1-2 after placing fourth overall in the regional tournament.

The girls' golf team, comprised of sophomores Charlotte Achterkirch, Melanie Alvarez, Emily Nicholson and Kara Otts, earned the district title. Both the girls' and boys' teams advanced to the 2017 Regional Tournament.

The boys' team placed second in the tournament with scoring led by junior Nathaniel Richardson who shot a round of 85. Richardson also placed seventh overall in the tournament.

The nine members of the CCS Golf Team started the season off with competition in the Fort Bend Christian Invitational.
