The Warrior Strong summer strength and conditioning program is in full swing with over 80 athletes participating and an average daily attendance of 50. Last Thursday, the boys took part in a football-based team challenge and ended the session with a leadership talk by Coach Spenn. Coach Martin did some competitions with the girls and also talked with them about leadership. The plan is to have additional sport-based team challenge days in future weeks.
Coach Spenn had this to say about the workouts, “It has been a great summer with the best participation numbers we have had in my 10 summers of strength and conditioning. It is a great time to get to know the athletes and a lot of discipleship takes place. An added bonus is that, over the years, students that show up have far fewer injuries and much better seasons on average than those that don’t, and we have a lot of boys and girls showing up.”
You can still sign up and join for the next five weeks of summer. The boys meet from 8 to 10 a.m. Monday through Thursday in the weight room and the girls meet on Tuesday and Thursday from 8:30 to 10 a.m. in the West Gym.
