Varsity Girls Soccer Advances in 2017 TAPPS Playoffs

On Feb. 24, the CCS Lady Warriors varsity soccer team was victorious in their bi-district match against a good Austin Brentwood team. With the final score of 5-2, the team advances to play Our Lady of the Hills from Kerrville in regional match up.

The game against Austin Brentwood was back and forth until late in the first half. Angelina Holl scored on a breakaway to give the Lady Warriors a 1-0 lead at the half. After the break, the CCS offense took control by scoring four times. Lauren Storey, Lexi Kemp and Anna Fontenot (2) each found the back of the net giving the girls a comfortable lead. But the girls from Brentwood put up two late goals to make the match interesting. Abigail Davis got the win and had five saves on the day. Aubrey Garrett, Lexi Kemp and Korey Cyr each had an assist in the game. It was a great turn out of the Warrior faithful to see these amazing girls advance to the next round of playoff games. Go, Lady Warriors.
