The middle school cross country team competed with 10 other schools on Tuesday, October 26 in the HAPS District Championship. The girls team finished in fourth place and the and boys finished eighth. Eighth-grader, Gillian Storey, finished seventh overall with a 2-mile time of 14.06. This time makes her the third fastest of all time in CCS history for both middle school and high school runners. The team trained hard all season with inspiring dedication and work ethic. Nine out of the 11 runners ran their personal best in this race.
Coach Angie Ramirez says, "I have loved getting to know the runners and being able to invest in their running goals for the season has been an honor. Hard work really does pay off! To know they are “running for a purpose” (season motto), not only in cross country, but in life, reminds me of Romans 8:28, which says, 'And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.'"
