The Houston Chronicle published an article on August 12, 2019, naming Cypress Christian School #11 in Houston for athletes for all high schools, public and private. The ranking is based on a study done by Niche.com using student and parent reviews of athletics, number of state championships, student participation in athletics and the number of sports offered at the school.
What makes Cypress Christian School unique is our philosophy when it comes to athletics. CCS involves its student-athletes in interscholastic sports in order to, first and foremost, glorify and honor God with the talents and abilities He has given. We believe athletics is a great tool to build Christian character, to teach discipline and to learn to face adversity and challenges with a steady eye, a courageous spirit and reliance upon the ultimate authority, Jesus Christ.
Our number one goal is building men and women of godly character in our athletic programs. All of our sports follow a biblical model for competing while pursuing excellence at all times. This approach has led to multiple state championship teams and state champion athletes.
During the 2017-2018 school year, the boys football, baseball and track & field teams all won the TAPPS 4A State Championships along with several individual championships in track & field and swimming. To see all CCS State Champions, individuals and teams, visit our school Wikipedia page.
