Seven Brides for Seven Brothers
The Cypress Christian School Performing Arts Department treated audiences to the amazing production of Seven Brides for Seven Brothers on March 6-8, 2018. This fantastic show had it all with conflict, fun, love and lots of backwoods humor.
Characters Millie and Adam anchored the show with a wonderful supporting cast of brides, brothers, suitors and townspeople. Milly marries Adam after an extremely short courtship and returns to his ranch, where she is surprised to meet his six ill-mannered brothers. Milly attempts to teach her new brothers how to properly behave and how to court a woman. They grow to love and respect her and eventually take her advice. In the end, the brothers learn to treat the women with respect and each marries his beautiful bride.
This talented cast kept audiences enthralled with fight scenes, singing, dancing and comedic dialogue. Songs like "Bless your Beautiful Hide," "Goin' Courtin'" and "Sobbin' Women" kept the audience entertained throughout the night. There was no better way to end the show than with the captivating final dance scene that included the entire cast and featured fun, energetic trick dance moves.
Special thanks to Director John Nance, the cast, backstage tech crew, choreographer, costume designer and parents for their tireless efforts in making this show such a great success.
