Strategic Challenges in Principles of Engineering

The Principles of Engineering class started off the year with some daily strategic activities where they were given a time limit to contemplate different possible designs. 

• Paper Tower - The class worked in teams to create the tallest standing paper tower. 

• Functional Car - The class was split into teams and given only two CDs, a box of pencils, rubber bands and clay and were instructed to create a functional moving car.

• Parking Garage - The class was given popsicle sticks, tape and card stock paper and was asked to design a parking garage. 

The students enjoyed these challenges and learned a lot in the process.
