Students in Mrs. Galbreath’s Spanish II Honors class created sentences with double object pronouns using a hands-on activity. Rather than hone their grammatical skills and correct sentence structure by simple translations using pen and paper, students used puzzle piece sentence strips to create sentences. They then recreated the sentences replacing all direct and indirect objects with pronouns. Using this technique made a rather boring and tedious task into a fun activity. Some groups added a competitive aspect by racing against each other. Students were successful in learning and applying the concept of double object pronouns as proven by their quiz scores the next day.
