Sixth-Grade Skatepark

Sixth-grade students finished up the year with a hands-on exploration of the physics of motion. Using what they learned in class about potential and kinetic energy, friction and inertia, they designed and built a cardboard working skatepark! As part of the final activity, students send marble “skaters” through their park and explain how the skater and each obstacle demonstrate the physics of motion.
