Operation Christmas Child 2017

Operation Christmas Child 2017

Elementary, middle school and high students participated in the "Operation Christmas Child" project through Samaritan’s Purse. The organization works together with churches, schools, youth groups, etc., to assemble shoe boxes filled with various gift items and gospel literature. The Christmas boxes will be delivered to children in countries all around the world. This is a wonderful way for students to help send the gospel message to a child in another country.

In elementary, each student was assigned two small items and encouraged to bring these items to school. Students wrote special notes and letters to include in the boxes, packed them with items collected and added their notes, and prayed for the recipients. Each class assembled two boxes, one for a boy and one for a girl, which will now be sent overseas. This year, the elementary division of CCS packed 56 boxes and the boxes will be tracked giving students information on where the boxes are distributed.

In middle school, the National Junior Honor Society worked with middle school students to collect items to fill boxes. Our middle school students did a wonderful job bringing in items for the boxes allowing NJHS members to fill 90 boxes.

In high school, four Warrior tribes: Gad, Levi, Dan  and  Benjamin, prepared another 23 boxes.

Overall, 169 boxes were packed! Thanks to K-12 students, the National Junior Honor Society and parent volunteers who helped make this project a huge success to provide gifts to children across the world and share God's love with them.

The response to this project has been overwhelmingly positive. Please join us as we pray for the children who will receive these gifts and for their families.
