On Friday, February 2, the students of National Junior Honor Society were privileged to welcome fifteen new members for the upcoming year! Qualifying for NJHS is a significant accomplishment; students are only able to apply if they retain a 90 or higher in each core class (Bible, ELA, History, Math and Science). The application process involves students presenting a profile that includes leadership and service activities and letters of recommendation from a pastor or other church staff. The applications are then reviewed by the NJHS sponsors and the academic council before the student is officially approved to become a member of the society. Our new and current members got to enjoy ice cream sundaes and fellowship with friends in the West Gym during tutorials. They were spoken to by this year's Vice President, Grace Macune, who emphasized the role that the new members now had in the school as servant leaders and academic role models.
