Kindergarten students recently completed a two-week research project on insects. Students learned about the job of an entomologist and used nonfiction books to find important and interesting facts about ladybugs, honeybees, ants and butterflies. They completed graphic organizers to aid them in writing about what they learned while investigating their insect.
During this time, in computer class, Mrs. Tate assisted them in computer research, and in creating PowerPoint presentations. As a culminating activity, each student created a model of their insect.
Students not only learned about insects, but also learned how to work together in a group to accomplish their goal.
What a fun time we had learning about ladybugs, honeybees, ants and butterflies!
