On Tuesday, January 19, the Private and Parochial School Rodeo Art competition judging took place at NRG Stadium. All entries were delivered on Tuesday and returned Wednesday after the judging. CCS middle school and high school students entered and all received Finalists ribbons in their respective divisions.
The Best of Show, Gold Medal and Special Merit were selected from those students that received Finalist’s honors.
- Tyson Anding (grade 10) won the Best of Show for the entire Private District with her scratchboard art of a vulture. Tyson’s art will be on exhibit at the Hayloft Gallery during the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo and go on to compete with the Public School District winners for the auction. She will be receiving a trophy along with the opportunity to apply to the Glassell Jr. School of Art Summer program and/or the Western Art Academy Summer program in Kerrville, TX under the direction of Schreiner University where students receive three hours of college credit if they complete the course with a passing grade.
