Dr. Jeffrey D. Potts
President

Dr. Potts has over 20 years' experience as a classroom teacher, coach and administrator. At previous schools, he has a proven track record of significantly improving the school's financial footing while operating on two campuses; implementing systems to increase re-enrollment rates and leading the school through ACSI/AdvancedED accreditation. He was able to triple the merit-based college scholarships offered to graduating seniors during his tenure. Seeking to ensure graduates are better prepared to take on leadership roles in college and beyond, Dr. Potts began a partnership with Student Leadership University whereby he was able to take select students on international experiences to Jerusalem and Amman, Jordan. Dr. Potts has presented as a keynote speaker both nationally and internationally, is a published author and has previously served as a church elder and small group Bible study leader for over 10 years.

Dr. Ryan Berens
Vice President of Academics

Dr. Berens has over 19 years of educational experience and has previously held roles as High School Principal, Coordinator of Innovative Learning and Instructional Technology for the Georgia Department of Education and Coordinator of Instructional Learning for a private independent school in Louisiana, where he implemented a 1-to-1 iPad program. Most  recently, Dr. Berens served at Trinity Christian Academy in Addison, Texas for five years. He led faculty integration, supervised the Chapel and House System, led the e-learning program and served pedagogical/professional development roles with faculty all through his role as Assistant Middle School Principal. 

Dr. Berens lives as an example of Christian faith and brings an elite blend of pedagogical training, technological innovation and spiritual development with nearly two decades of leadership experience. His spiritual and professional calling overlap as shown in his mixed portfolio of educational leadership. Along with strong student, family and faculty guidance, Dr. Berens specializes in Christian growth and development for the whole community to better enable them to lead as the next generation of leaders.

Mr. Jeff Williamson
High School Principal

Mr. Williamson brings over 25 years of experience in education and administration having held roles including head of school, school superintendent and high school principal. He has a passion for relationship building, fostering a culture of joy and encouraging the underdog. It is also very important to him to see that Christian students experience discipleship in the importance of a relationship with God and giving God Lordship of their lives while they are young.

Mrs. Iva Nell Rhea
Middle School Principal

Mrs. Rhea has been affiliated with CCS in various roles since 1986. Mrs. Rhea has a special interest in and love for middle school students and enjoys seeing God work in them to produce young men and women of strong faith who can engage the world for Christ. Her credentials and experience are as follows:

Dr. Melissa Allen
Elementary Principal

Dr. Allen taught math and science for six years prior to moving to administration. For the past 14 years, she has been in various administration roles at the elementary and secondary levels in public and private schools. Most recently she served as the elementary principal and Exceptional Student Education Director (ESE) K-12 for Berean Christian School in West Palm Beach, FL.  Dr. Allen has a desire to ensure that students feel loved and cared for while receiving a top-notch education in a Christ-centered environment. She is excited to be part of the Cypress Christian Family.

Mr. David Swan
Chief Financial Officer | Chief  Operating Officer | Head Baseball Coach

David Swan joined the CCS team in 2012 and oversees both the development and operations functions of the school. He has over 15 years of business management experience, focusing on designing, managing and improving key business processes with companies in a variety of industries. Mr. Swan is a certified Six Sigma advisor, specializing in strategic planning, implementation, training, coaching and driving project closure. He has also written and presented papers on training and has co-authored articles for various engineering journals.

Mr. Kris Hogan
director oF culture | head football coach

As the Director of Culture, Kris Hogan’s goal is to equip Christians and develop the next generation of leaders while partnering with like-minded parents.  His passion is training believers and helping them build a Biblical mental framework to interpret the world and boldly serve the Lord through decisive action. “I would rather train and help people develop a mindset based on Biblical principles, than do anything else in the world!”

Kris Hogan has over 24 years of educational experience as a teacher, coach, administrator and athletic director.  During his coaching tenure, he has seen teams capture 18 state championships in multiple sports, including football, track, baseball, softball, boys soccer, girls soccer, boys basketball, girls basketball and swim. Coach Hogan serves as the Warrior head varsity football coach, and has been the recipient of the National Sportsman of the Year Award presented by AT&T and a multiple-time recipient of a national Character in Coaching Award.

Mr. Craig Soudelier
Director of advancement

Craig Soudelier comes to CCS with decades of experience in operations, human resources, sales and marketing. He has held leadership roles in Fortune 500 companies and has been a successful private business owner. He is a strong communicator and lover of people. One of his greatest strengths is his ability to build meaningful relationships and invest in people. In his many leadership positions, he has proven himself to be a born leader, team-builder, community connector and strategic planner with a strong track record of success in managing people, projects and technology. He is very active in the Cypress community and has served as a board member for the Cy-Fair Houston Chamber of Commerce for six years and was Chairman of the Board in 2021. Craig is excited to come home to CCS to partner with school families and the community to build the bridge to our future.

Mr. Drew Sells
ATHLETIC Director | Head Track & Field Coach

Drew Sells is a highly relational and enthusiastic leader eager to contribute to team success through hard work, attention to detail and excellent organizational skills. He has a clear understanding of developing a winning culture through the platform of athletics and a proven track record of doing with so over 17 years of Christian education experience. In addition, he has over 15 years of experience leading and attending Student Leadership University from 101 through 401.  He is motivated to teach the next generation of men and women to pursue Christ and change the world.

Mr. Sells is committed to athletic excellence in both girls' and boys' sports and is nationally certified in sports strength and conditioning. As athletic director or coach, Sells' teams have had great success, winning multiple district and state championships. He was an integral part of the staff and faculty that TAPPS twice awarded the Henderson Cup, awarded annually to the top overall school in each TAPPS classification.
