Mr. Stephen J. Novotny, J.D.
Executive Director

Mr. Novotny has enjoyed a career of providing successful leadership to organizations in the fields of law, the military, business and education. As the Executive Director for Cypress Christian School, Mr. Novotny emphasizes the pursuit of excellence in all aspects of the educational environment as the proper means to honor the Lord Jesus Christ. Mr. Novotny has a track record of focusing on serving others and helping organizations achieve greater levels of effectiveness in their mission. As an attorney, Mr. Novotny has represented and advised corporations from the very top of the Fortune 500 list to small, privately-owned companies. Prior to his work in law, Christian ministry and education, Mr. Novotny served as an officer in the United States Army, leading and training combat arms units, and was also qualified as an Airborne Paratrooper.

Mr. Craig Cleveland
Dean of Students | Head Boys Basketball Coach

Coach Cleveland has faithfully served at Cypress Christian School since 2003. In his role as Dean of Students, Coach Cleveland oversees all disciplinary matters for secondary students (grades 6-12). He is known for being a Godly mentor and encouraging students to be the best that they can be. Additionally, he assists the middle school and high school principals with campus logistics, student accountability and maintaining a positive, safe, Christ-like environment that is conducive for learning. Mrs. Becky Fredrickson
DIRECTOR OF Academic AdvisING | DIRECTOR OF COLLEGE COUNSELING | Head Softball Coach

Mrs. Fredrickson holds teaching certifications with both ACSI and the State of Texas, and has over ten years of distinguished service as an educator in both Christian and public schools. As CCS's Academic Advisor, Mrs.Fredrickson strives to engage students and their parents to ensure that they are informed and prepared for the road to success during their high school years and beyond. Mrs. Fredrickson provides personalized assistance to students by encouraging them to explore college and other post-high school options, and guides them through college testing and the admissions process, while keeping them on track during the rigorous CCS academic experience.

Mr. Jim Hill
Managing Athletic Director

Mr. Hill has over 30 years of educational experience as a teacher, coach, athletic director, elementary principal, high school principal and superintendent of schools. His coaching career spans 25 years coaching volleyball, basketball, baseball, track and field and soccer, winning numerous coach of the year honors and amassing over 500 wins in his basketball coaching career. Mr. Hill was a twice-elected member of the Association of Christian Schools International Northwest Committee for Accreditation of Schools. It has been his goal to teach young men and women how to live, work and play for the Lord and to help guide organizations to operate professionally and with a Biblical worldview.

Mrs. Marsha Martin
Athletic Director | Head Girls Basketball and Track Coach

Coach Martin has served CCS since 1996. Her love for the students of Cypress Christian is evident in her roles as Athletic Director, teacher, coach and friend. Her credentials and experience are as follows:

Mr. Jeff Mudrow
High School Principal | Head Soccer Coach

Mr. Mudrow has extensive experience in Christian education as a classroom teacher, an athletic coach and as the principal and head of school for college-preparatory academies. His management and program development expertise position him to serve at CCS in the role of High School Principal with the goal of improving our secondary school's academic programs for our school families.

Mrs. Iva Nell Rhea
Middle School Principal

Mrs. Rhea has been affiliated with CCS in various roles since 1986. Mrs. Rhea has a special interest in and love for middle school students and enjoys seeing God work in them to produce young men and women of strong faith who can engage the world for Christ. Her credentials and experience are as follows:

Mrs. Joy Bezner
Elementary School Principal

Mrs. Bezner brings extensive experience as a teacher, special education specialist and administrator in both private and public schools to her role as Elementary Principal. Mrs. Bezner loves using the experiences and gifts that God has given her to motivate and encourage teachers and students, and she feels incredibly blessed to serve at Cypress Christian School. Her credentials include:

Dr. Christopher Witschonke
Dean of Instructional Development

Dr. Witschonke is a proven Christian servant and educational leader. For five years, Dr. Witschonke served on faculty with the University of Houston-Downtown teaching and training teachers and undergraduate college students majoring in education. Prior to this, he spent ten years as a secondary classroom teacher, distinguishing himself as an innovative educator who knew how to successfully teach and reach young people. Dr. Witschonke serves at Second Baptist Church as a deacon and as a volunteer in children’s and youth ministry.

Mrs. Angie Ramirez
Admissions Director

Mrs. Ramirez has served in various capacities at CCS since 2005. Mrs. Ramirez states: “My job at Cypress Christian School is to clearly communicate the mission of the school to prospective families. As I have opportunity to get to know the families, I must discern if there is a spiritual match, an academic match, and a behavior match for the family and for the school.” Ramirez represents CCS through the Cy-Fair Chamber of Commerce and promotes public relations efforts by giving individual tours of the campus, staging preview nights and student visitor days, organizing grade-specific events and working one-on-one with families as they navigate the admissions process.

Mr. Robert White
Director of Advancement | General Administrator

Mr. White holds ACSI certifications as both a superintendent and as a principal, and he has served as an elementary principal, high school principal and head of school for a multi-campus Christian school district of over 670 students. His strong experience at every level of Christian school administration enables him to effectively lead and to help organizations achieve excellence in their mission.

Mr. Jacob Spenn
Athletic Administrator | Head Football Coach

Coach Spenn is known to CCS families as an effective coach with a heart for Christian discipleship. Along with coaching, he works as an administrator of athletic programming and teaches high school math and engineering classes. His academic and professional management background are as follows:

Mrs. Donna Rhodes
Business Manager

Mrs. Donna Rhodes, since coming to CCS in 1998, has used her vast experience and education to manage the school finances.

Mr. David Swan
Director of Operations | Head Baseball Coach

Mr. Swan joined the CCS team in 2012 and oversees both the development and operations functions of the school. He has over 15 years of business management experience, focusing on designing, managing and improving key business processes with companies in a variety of industries. Mr. Swan is a certified Six Sigma advisor, specializing in strategic planning, implementation, training, coaching and driving project closure. He has also written and presented papers on training and has co-authored articles for various engineering journals.
