Warriors Defeat Brazos Christian 13-0
August 29, 2010
The Warrior defense opened up the 2010 season by pitching a shutout. The front line racked up 10 tackles for loss including 5 sacks. Daniel Rodriguez and Usman Mohammad each had 2.5 tackles for loss. The tone for the night we set early as the first two drives for Brazos Christian totaled -10 yards including an 11 yard sack by Jack Mitchell and an interception by Kyle Moon. The offense showed signs of life all night long but had trouble finding the end zone with the powerful rushing of Jason Groll. Garrett Higginbotham racked up yards with 10 catches for 108 yards including a leaping sideline catch for the first touchdown. Jonathan Mason distributed the ball to five different targets as he completed 16 passes for 236 yards. The only other score of the game came when Jonathan Mason hit Ben Mitchell down the sideline for a 65 yards touchdown completion. The real difference in the game was how the Warriors played up front on both offense and defense. Click here for more stats.
The Warriors will travel to Northland Christian next Friday night at 7 PM. Northland defeated KIPP academy 56 to 8 last Friday.
