Warriors Continue to Improve in Second Meet of the Season

The Warriors played host to 12 other teams on Thursday, March 10, for the second meet of the season.  It was a great afternoon and evening for competition.  Our Warriors, both the girls and the boys varsity teams placed third in the meet overall.  Here is a recap of individual accomplishments:

Shot Put - Chelbi Orrick, 5th place

Discus - Blessing Ajibero 4th place, Calvin Davis 5th place, Mason McCollum 6th place

High Jump - Katie Moore tie for 2nd place, Evan Doremus is the High Jump Champion with a jump of 6'0".

Triple Jump - Natalie Moore 2nd place, Katie Moore 5th place, Shannen Longridge 6trh place, Usman Mohammed 2nd place, TJ Mohammed 5th place

100 M. Dash - Chelbi Orrick - Champion  Travis Takacs - Champion, Calvin Novotny 5th place

200 M. Dash - Usman Mohammed 5th place

400 M. Dash - Barnabas Odeyomi 5th place

110 M. Hurdles - Travis Takacs 2nd Place, Timothy Starbuck 5th place

300 M. Hurdles - Timothy Starbuck 4th place

4x100 M. Relay - Girls Team(Orrick, Hadfield, N. Moore, Longridge) 3rd place, Boys team(Takacs, Novotny, B. Odeyomi, U. Mohammed) 2nd place

4x 200 M. Relay - Girls Team(Hadfield, Orrick, Moore, Van Pelt) 2nd place, Boys Team(B. Odeyomi, Takacs, U. Mohammed, T. Mohammed) 2nd place

4x400 M. Relay - Girls Team(Orrick, N. Moore, Longridge, Van Pelt) 4th place, Boys team(P. Odeyomi, Novotny, Fontenot, Boyd) 4th place

It was also a FIRST for the school as we had a Boys JV team competing against the varsity with ten of our young men competing on that team.  They also had great showings and an opportunity to compete in a competitive environment.

The meet was another big step in our preparations for the district meet.  Congratulations to everyone for improving on times and distances.
