Warrior Baseball Wins Big in Area Playoff Game-Hicks Hits TWO Grand Slams

May 3, 2011

The Warrior baseball team survived the long drive to Lubbock and faced down very cool and windy weather to soundly beat Lubbock Christian 10-3.  Joshua Martinez pitched a complete game, giving up only 3 hits and notching 6 strikeouts.  To help his own effort he went 2 for 3 at the plate and knocked in 2 runs.  The offensive player of the day, however, was Jacob Hicks.  Hicks was 3 for 4 and blasted 2 grand slams and a double, bashing in a total of 8 of the Warriors 10 runs.

Next up for the Warriors will be the Regional game tentatively scheduled for Tuesday, May 10 (away) against the winner of Austin St. Dominic Savio or Fort Worth Bethesda (playing May 5 in Fort Worth).
