Varsity Lady Warriors Claim Victory on the Road at Faith West!!!

The road to a 3A District 7 championship always goes through Katy and the Lady Warriors and the Lady Warrior Fan Club made the trip out to Faith West to battle our district rivals for top positioning in early district play. What an incredible game for the Warrior fans! The first game was back and forth with each team determined to take the lead. The Warriors would not be shaken and took the 1st game 27-25. The Eagles came out in game 2 with a vengeance taking the game 18 -25. Our coaches made timely adjustments and refocused the Warriors for the next game knowing that CCS would not go down without a fight and claimed the third game 25-21. Game 4 was the most exciting game with each player making awesome digs, passes, sets, and hits. Both teams came out fighting, but Faith West took the game 23-25 setting up a 5th and final game. The Lady Warriors played with great passion and poise.  Senior leadership proved to be key as they played their first 5 game match of the young 2011 season. Our fans screamed out “Warriors Fight” and our girls did exactly that!!! They fought like true Cypress Warriors and won going away 15-10 in a thriller. The fans were exhausted…the girls came together and embraced each other after the victory. The box score: 27- 25, 18-25, 25-21, 23-25, 15-10.

The Warriors are now 2-0 in district. Thanks again to our great volleyball fan base who travelled out to Katy – you made the difference! What a game and this is just the beginning….Come out and support your Lady Warriors!!
