Senator Dan Patrick Addresses Graduates

On Friday, May 28, at 7:30 p.m., Cypress Christian School conducted its annual commencement ceremonies to honor the graduating class of 2010 and their families. This year's commencement speaker was Texas Senator Dan Patrick.

Cypress Christian School is dedicated to producing students that are committed to excellence and that are equipped to impact their world for Jesus Christ. Senator Dan Patrick is an example of an individual striving to impact his world for Christ as a broadcaster, author, film producer, and state legislator.

Senator Patrick is known as an outspoken follower of Jesus Christ and an influential member of the Texas Senate. As a state senator, he took the lead in passing the bill placing IN GOD WE TRUST permanently in the Senate chamber and in passing the Senate legislation placing UNDER GOD in the Texas pledge. Senator Patrick is the author of the book The Second Most Important Book You Will Ever Read: A Personal Challenge to Read the Bible.

Recently, Senator Patrick served as the executive producer of the well-known movie, The Heart of Texas, that highlights a true story of the triumph of Christian forgiveness in the midst of personal tragedy. Senator Patrick is also a frequent guest on Fox and CNN, as well as national radio shows hosted by well-known personalities like Laura Ingraham and Glenn Beck.
