Run-4-Fun Huge Success

March 29, 2010

On March 11, K-5 students participated in the annual Brandon Vick Memorial Run-4-Fun.   The day included a great flapjack breakfast giving fuel to the runners, a real-life marathon setting on the CCS Track, friends and family members cheering on the runners, a live internet broadcast and great snacks and prizes for the participants.

THANKS to our sponsors, volunteers, and donors for making this a great event to raise over $20,000 for CCS elementary programs.

Event Sponsors/Donors:
Luke's Locker
Run Wild Sports
Mountasia
Chick-fil-A (1960 @ Cutten)
CiCi's Pizza (1960 @ Jones)

Race Results

Everyone finished! Congratulations to Michael Slabic, Coleman Mabry, Austin Cheek, Tucker Frederickson, Garrett Velez, Lauren Storey, Ian Jones, Akeem Mohammed, Zach Cannon, Westin Whitaker, Drew Bancroft, Joshua Holl, Samuel Adeniran, Cole Miller, William LeForce, and Michael Pogson, who all ran more than three miles. Michael Pogson, Tucker Frederickson, Cole Miller, and Samuel Adeniran completed 14 laps (3.5 miles), with Samuel Adeniran finishing in the fastest time at 29:41 to be our grand champion.

You can view the complete results at www.eztoregister.com/results/Lap10.htm. There was one glitch with the timing that resulted in the first lap for second and third grade being off by about a minute.

We had a few glitches and did not get the live feed up until the end of the first race, but we did have 60 viewers in 6 different states watching over the internet.

THANKS to everyone who helped make this day a huge success!
