Regional Soccer for Boys and Girls

Both the varsity boys and girls soccer teams will compete in the TAPPS State Regional games on Tuesday, March 5.  Both teams finished the season as undefeated District Champions and have earned a bye in the first round of the state playoffs.  

The girls finished the season 8-6-3 and have won three straight behind the strong play of Chelbi Orrick and Blessing Ajibero. Orrick has 14 goals on the season and Ajibero has 10. Senior goalkeeper Alyssa Beach has 85 saves for the Lady Warriors.

The boys finished the season 10-4-2 and simply dominated their district.Their four losses and two ties came against much bigger schools so the excitement is high about the season state playoffs.  The Warriors are led on offense by senior Jake Borkovich with 23 goals on 93 shoots and 9 assists.  The Warriors have scored 70 goals on the season and only given up 27. Timothy Starbuck and Chris Mullins have 80 saves in the goal. TJ Mohammed has 17 goals for the Warriors. 13 of the 17 players on the roster have scored a goal this season.

Both regional games will be held on Tuesday, March 5.

  • High school girls will be traveling to Brenham to play Carrollton Christian at 5:30 (Hohlt Park, Rankin Field, 2425 North Park Street, Brenham, 77833).
  • High school boys will be traveling to Bastrop to play Boerne Geneva School at 6:30 (Bastrop Memorial Stadium, 755 Texas 21 West, Bastrop, 78602 or Cedar Creek, TX 78612)  This game will be Live Streamed.
  • Secondary students that attend one of the games will be allowed to wear jeans and a Cypress t-shirt on Wednesday, 3/6.
