McCurry to Play Football for SNU

February 2, 2012

Phillip McCurry at 6'7" 290 lb. might just be the biggest football player to ever come out of CCS.  He signed a letter of intent on National Signing Day to play football for Southern Nazarene University in Oklahoma City.  The Red Storm finished the season ranked 12 in the final NAIA pole but will make the move to NCAA Division II next season. The Red Storm were 9-3 in 2011 under the direction of head coach Mike Cochran.

Phillip was a standout linemen on both sides of the ball for the Warriors.  He rarely came out of the game and as a result earned 1st Team All-District honors on both sides of the ball, as well as, 1st Team All-State Honors as an offensive linemen and 2nd Team All-State as a defensive linemen. As a student Phillip was selected to the All-State Academic team. During his time at CCS, he played for three District Championship teams and helped CCS advance to the State Semi-Finals his Senior year.
