Ladybugs
September 27, 2011
On Saturday, October 22, the Ladybugs Christian mentoring organization of Cypress Christian will host a Dinner and Style Show for all CCS high school girls. This event will be held in the multi-use facility from 6:00-9:00 p.m. As part of their fall service project, each girl is encouraged to bring extra clothes to donate to Northwest Assistance Ministries (NAM) or the Salvation Army.
Ladybugs is a CCS organization that was started to encourage senior girls to disciple and mentor high school girls in lower grades - based on Titus 2 where the older is to encourage the younger. Each senior enjoys Christian fellowship during the year with an assigned underclass girl - spending time with her, writing her notes, providing treats, and praying for her. Every girl in high school may join the organization by simply attending events initiated by the group leader. Up-to-date information and upcoming events are posted on the Lady Bugs bulletin board located in the multi-use facility near high school classrooms.
On Monday mornings, senior girls meet before school for prayer and encouragement. They participate in service projects during the year like the Dinner and Style Show scheduled for October 22. Recently, the girls worked in the concession stand at a Warrior football game to raise money for those affected by the recent fires in Texas. Teachers Michele Bennett and Rachael Lechman are the Ladybug sponsors.
