Lady Warriors Softball Finish the Season with a Loss
April 26, 2011
Our Lady Warriors varsity softball team finished out the 2011 season with their cross-town rivals, the Faith West Eagles. Our Warriors came up a little short on the scoreboard, but there were several great plays to end the season. With a couple of players injured on the roster, Coach Van Rieg rotated the girls around the infield to fill the positions. Jade Harper came through with two "gold-glove" plays at third base when she snagged two hard hit line drives that surely would have scored runs for the Eagles. Our senior captain Lexus Van Pelt also saved her best performance for her final game as a Warrior. Lexus went two for three at the plate with a triple and a tape-measure home run that left the park over the left center field wall. Although Lexus has hit many inside-the-park home runs in her CCS career, none had left the park like this one did. A coach from Faith West initialed the ball as a keep-sake and presented it to Lexus after the game.
