Senior volleyball players were recognized at the last home game of the season. As always, it was a very special night for the team, family members, friends, and coaches.
Alyssa Beach
This is Alyssa’s fourth year to play volleyball at Cypress. Her favorite Bible verse is Romans 8:38-39. The verses remind Alyssa “of the assurance of God’s love for us and that nothing can ever take that away from us.” She plans to attend Texas A& M University in the college of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences. She plans to major in Biomedical Science and become a Physician’s Assistant. Alyssa’s favorite part of volleyball is playing the game and encouraging her teammates. Alyssa’s words of advice: “Never be afraid to always try your best and always encourage others.”
Sarah Coffman
This is Sarah’s first year to play volleyball at Cypress. Her favorite Bible verse is James 1:17 because “it gives me comfort in God’s work through our lives and His connections with us.” Sarah plans to attend Lamar University and major in Industrial Engineering. The most memorable part of volleyball for Sarah is “the girls that I am able to play with. I am so blessed to know all of them.” Sarah’s words of advice: “Never quit and always follow through with everything you do and always give it your all.”
Shannen Longridge
This is Shannen’s fourth year to play volleyball for Cypress. Her favorite Bible verse is 1 Timothy 4:12 because it reminds her “to keep my focus on following God so that I can set an example for those around me.” Shannen plans to attend Texas A&M University and major in Physics with a minor in Spanish and coaching. She would like to become a teacher when she finishes college. Her most enjoyable part of Lady Warrior Volleyball has been “growing with my teammates and coach and really developing strong relationships with each other! I love my team and have loved growing with them.” Shannen’s words of advice: “Seek God in any and every situation, and when challenges come, submit all you are to Him and lay everything down at His feet. He will always be with you.”
