LADY WARRIORS EARN THIRD PLACE AT CCS WARRIOR CLASSIC TOURNAMENT

The competition was great and the Lady Warriors found success once more!

December 15, 2011

On Dec. 8-10, 8 girls and 8 boys teams met at the CCS Warrior Classic Tournament held for the second year in a row.  Games began at 9:00 a.m. each day and ended about 9:00 p.m.  The gym was filled with fans and great basketball.  The Lady Warriors first faced Covenant Christian of Conroe and took care of business with a 44-25 victory.  On Friday, they faced the Lady Cougars of Northland Christian.  The Lady Warriors had them by the tail until they just ran out of gas at the end of the third quarter.  The Cougars went on to win 52-41.  It was still an excellent game for the girls of CCS because they saw what the could do and needed to do.  On Saturday, they moved into the third place game against district foe, the Lady Eagles of Faith West.  The Lady Warriors dominated in the paint and won 45-24, bringing home third place honors and Katie Moore also earned All Tournament.  It was a tremendous opportunity and the tournament was a great success for CCS basketball.  The Lady Warriors will be traveling to Rice Consolidated High School in Altair on Dec. 28-29 to play in a public school tournament next.  District begins Jan. 6.
